Foreclosures outnumbered the sales of new and existing homes in
January for the first time, further evidence that the Las Vegas
housing market is deteriorating.
The median price of homes sold in January was $247,000, a drop of
$6,000 from December. Prices of existing homes have dropped nearly 15
percent in the last 13 months. It was $289,500 in February 2007.
